A strong cultural heritage
Escape from the beach and cool down by visiting the Collections of Saint-Cyprien. The museum is nestled in the heart of the old village and brings together unique works and temporary exhibitions, as well as the exceptional permanent collection of the painter François Desnoyer. Between fun workshops for children, guided tours of the village and the exhibitions, the Collections of Saint-Cyprien is among the 4 must-see places of Saint-Cyprien.
The Saint-Etienne of Villerase Chapel is located at the exit of Saint-Cyprien, its bucolic setting makes it a picnic place much appreciated by visitors and residents. Talks take place throughout the summer (see the Agenda).
The Village Church was built in the XVIII century, replacing a Romanesque church, of which several cut stones remain. On the eastern face, the apse shows the date of 1759 and on the southern face the name of the architect is found: "Mestra Toni Peccareu, 1759".
Leisure and entertainment all year round
Saint-Cyprien thrives throughout the year to the rhythm of concerts and traditional festivals in two main locations, Place de la République and Place Desnoyer. Visitors, holidaymakers and residents will find delight there. Every year in September, thousands of visitors gather for the Festa Major, a traditional festival over three days to reconnect with Catalan traditions.
The Espace Aquasud swimming pool is open all year and accessible to all ages: young swimmers, schoolchildren, experienced swimmers, enthusiasts and water lovers, it is one of the most popular leisure venues in Saint-Cyprien. A multitude of activities are available, from aquabiking to aquagym to a swim school. The hammam and jacuzzis complete this facility.
The Municipal Music School of Saint-Cyprien organises free concerts and shows all around the town throughout the year (see the Agenda).
Make a detour to the Prosper Mérimée Multimedia Library and enjoy a wide choice of books, comics, DVDs and free wifi access. The cultural programme of the Multimedia Library is rich and varied, many concerts are held throughout the year.
An unspoilt natural setting
Linking the village and beach, the Parc de la Prade of Saint-Cyprien is a link between the sea and the land. You can walk on 2.5 kms of paths. There are: a sports trail, three lakes and an ornithological zone, a children’s playground, a city stade, ...
